Kaiwen is a PhD candidate at the Department of Chemical Engineering and Biotechnology. He joined the CaPI research team in 2018 as part of the Graphene CDT programme. He obtained Bachelor of Engineering degree from The University of Manchester, UK, and Tianjin University, China.
His research focuses on understanding of quantum confinement in 2D perovskite nanocrystals, high efficiency and tunable electroluminescence, and synthesis of perovskite nanocrystals with isolating shells using continuous flow chemistry. He is co-supervised by Dr Sam Stranks (CEB&Cavendish) and Dr Robert Hoye (Imperial College London).
The group is based in the Department of Chemical Engineering and Biotechnology (CEB) in West Cambridge
