Catalysis and Process Integration
Dr. Pinho is a Senior Research Associate in the Department of Chemical Engineering and Biotechnology (CEB) at the University of Cambridge. He joined the CaPI group since late 2017.
His background covers modeling and lab experience in industry (IFP Energies Nouvelles, France) and academia (FEUP – Portugal; ICMCB – France; NYU – USA; U. Cambridge – UK).
His research is focused on the development of automated manufacturing technology for the synthesis of metal nanoparticles with in-situ analysis.
He has been working on the development of mili- and microfluidic processes for a large set of disciplinary fields, some of them evolving i. energy and environment, ii. thermodynamics, iii. supercritical heterogeneous catalysis, iv. manufacturing, and v. computational process design.
Expertise: in situ microfluidics, catalytic reactors, automation, nanoparticles, CFD, high pressure, and supercritical fluids.
The group is based in the Department of Chemical Engineering and Biotechnology (CEB) in West Cambridge
