We once more opened our doors to the public on Saturday, 22 March for the Cambridge Festival, showcasing the science and research of the Department of Chemical Engineering and Biotechnology (CEB). A whopping 917 visitors attended this year's festival, with a large proportion also participating in the Ammonia Energy for the Future demonstration lead by our CaPI group. During the demonstration, Luc Liedtke, Juan Luis Pinzon-Ramirez, Jack Burt and Dr Hernan Mazzei demonstrated the incredible energy density of liquid ammonia by igniting hydrogen balloons. They also guided children through the process of making green ammonia using toy molecular models.
